How we review

Our method, sources and independence.

Plastic-Free Home Reviews is an independent, English-language guide to eco-friendly household cleaning products sold in Italy, written for expats and English speakers who want plain answers before they buy.

How we score products

• Value (25%) — cost per wash or use, including subscription pricing.
• Certifications & transparency (25%) — independent eco-labels and full ingredient disclosure.
• Buyer satisfaction (25%) — average rating, number of verified reviews, share of 1-star ratings and recurring complaints.
• Ease of use & sustainability (25%) — dosing, storage, packaging and plastic avoided.

Where our information comes from

Manufacturer specifications, published ingredient lists, certification bodies (EU Ecolabel, ECOCERT), and verified buyer reviews on natulim.it. Buyer quotes are short excerpts translated from Italian and credited by the name shown on the store.

What we don't do

We don't run lab tests and we don't invent testimonials. When we haven't been able to verify something, we say so.

Independence
